A new market-exclusive business will be under construction soon at Bridge Street Town Centre in Huntsville.

Van Geroux, spokesman for the 8-year-old outdoor development, confirmed Jared The Galleria of Jewelry will debut at Bridge Street in the summer of 2016. The retailer will begin work this month on a freestanding building across from Barnes and Noble in the far parking lot toward Old Madison Pike.

The store will span approximately 4,600 square feet, he added.

“A construction fence has already been erected in a portion of Bridge Street’s southeast parking lot for work to commence,” Geroux said.

Founded in 1993, Jared is a division of Ohio-based Sterling Jewelers, which also operates the Kay Jewelers and Zales brands. Jared has one other Alabama store at Riverchase Galleria in the Birmingham suburb of Hoover.

The company does not open stores at indoor shopping malls and said it offers five times the selection of ordinary jewelry stores. In addition to a wide selection of jewelry, most Jared stores have a design and service center, full-service repair shop and play area for children.

Last week, Bridge Street announced another new-to-market retailer, Versona, will open a 6,000-square-foot store in November next to Belk. The boutique will sell women’s clothing, jewelry, handbags, shoes and other accessories in an upscale environment.

By late November, Geroux said nine new businesses will have launched at Bridge Street in 2015. Dick’s Sporting Goods is also under construction in the former Sports Authority space with a projected first quarter 2016 opening.
