Cops: Ex-Lumberton jewelry store worker stole merchandise – WTVD-TV

Lumberton police are looking for a woman they say stole more than $100,000 in merchandise from a local jewelry store where she was once employed.

Police tell local media outlets Tuesday that 36-year-old Elizabeth Marie McInnis is charged with three counts of obtaining property by false pretense and embezzlement of greater than $100,000.

McInnis worked at McNeill’s Jewelers off and on for decades but hadn’t been employed there in several months. Owner John McNeill says she sold some of the merchandise to local pawn shops and that some of it has been recovered.
