The 19th annual Lincoln Craft Festival kicked off Columbus Day weekend.
On Sunday, the village shops and town green along Main Street were packed with vendors. More than a hundred artisans from fifteen states are selling their crafts and food.
Festival goers waited in a long line for one vendor in particular. Rene Squillante, “The Original Cannoli Girl,” brought her homemade cannoli to the festival. Squillante drove up from her home in the North End in Boston to make her family-recipe Italian pastries.
“I come up here just to sell cannolis. I do 21 of the craft festivals. In Meredith and Lincoln I sell out; I bring more every year. It’s just amazing. Once I get you, you’re mine,” Squillante said.
There are lots of different types of food up for grabs at the festival, from jams, to chocolates, to fried dough.
Organizers estimate about 45,000 visit the festival each year. The event runs through Monday.
